DESCRIPTION:“Innovation is the only way to win”\nSteve Jobs\nThe Innovative Brain workshop will delve deep into the latest research from the brain and behavioural sciences to explore the sources and origins of creativity and innovation\, and give leaders clear steps to enhance their own creative capacity and that of their organisation. \n  \nThe Neuroscience of Creativity\nCreativity is an innately human activity  – as human beings we are hard-wired to be creative.     Yet where does it come from?  This session will explore the latest findings from neuroscience on the sources and basis of creativity\, helping participants understand how they can enhance their own personal creativity and those of the teams and organisations they lead. \n  \nHow personality and environment shape creativity\nIs there such a thing as a creative personality?  And are some people more creative than others?  Through a detailed discussion of the latest research into personality\, participants will explore the key personality traits that support creativity and learn how they can take advantage of those traits to become more creative. \n  \nUnderstanding the creative process – a Conversation with Conor McPherson\nIn conversation with Gráinne Millar\, leading playwright and screenwriter Conor McPherson will explore the creative process\, from initial idea through refinement and development of ideas to the successful end result. \n  \nBuilding an innovative organisation\nWhen it comes to innovation some organisations have it\, some don’t… or so it seems.  Building on the latest research into leadership\, teams and innovation\, this session will explore the key aspects of innovative organisations and explain why some organisations always seem to be leading the pack.  The session will equip leaders with the tools to enhance innovation and creativity in their own organisations\, making a step-change for the better. \n  \n\nGuest Speakers\nWe are delighted to announce that two very special guest speakers joining us at The Innovative Brain on June 8th at Dublin’s Gibson Hotel.\n\nConor McPherson\nConor McPherson is one of Ireland’s leading playwrights and screenwriters\, and has won awards across the world. He attended University College Dublin where he began to write and direct stage plays. Works for the theatre include Rum & Vodka\, The Good Thief\, This Lime Tree Bower\, St Nicholas\, The Weir\, Dublin Carol\, Port Authority\, Shining City\, The Seafarer\, The Veil\, The Night Alive and most recently\, the Olivier Award winning musical\, Girl from the North Country (with Bob Dylan). Adaptations include Strinberg’s Dance of Death\, Daphne Du Maurier’s The Birds and Franz Xaver Kroetz’s The Nest. \nAwards for his plays include the Laurence Olivier Award\, Three Tony Award nominations\, The Evening Standard Award\, London Critics’ Circle Award\, Meyer-Whitworth Award\, New York Drama Critics Circle Award\, The George Devine Award\, AWB Vincent Literary Award and an honorary D.Litt from University College Dublin. \nGráinne Millar\, GM Innovations \n\nGráinne Millar is a director of GM Innovations and is a leading management consultant in the area of collaboration and innovation with over 18 years experience working in Ireland and Europe. Gráinne has advised organisations on strategy\, innovation and creativity across tourism\, arts\, heritage\, enterprise development and agri-business.  She established and successfully developed the much lauded innovation project Culture Night from a small scale start-up in 2006 into an all-island phenomenon in partnership with the Department of Arts\, Heritage and Gaeltacht.
